7/28 Update

Alison's had a much better day today than she has the last few. She finally came out of her "rut" and was back to laughing and smiling a lot. We had two good friends from Springfield visit today and we had a really good time together. By late afternoon, Alison began to doze off, so we left so she could nap. After dinner, I returned with a couple friends from church for a visit. We had a fun time with them as well. We worked on the computer for most of the day, and Alison continues to show progress at being able to spell things. This evening we asked her to, in one word, tell us how her vision is most of the time. She responded with "poor." We asked her to rank on a scale of one to five where that fell and she said a three. I've known she could see, but the quality has always been uncertain. At this point, we're working on simple, one word response questions to ask her so we'll be able to learn more about her condition. If any of you have any suggestions for questions (funny or practical), feel free to recommend them. We want to practice as much as possible. Tomorrow I intend to ask about the specifics of the pain she's feeling. But it's been a good day, and she's sleeping soundly, and so is our dog on slumber party Saturday. Thanks for your continued support.
